Scaling Sustainable Honey Production to Advance Farmer Economies in Zone 8b with Scuppernong Muscadines is one of our newest projects for 2025 will include establishing a muscadine vineyard at our apiary. The hope is that the muscadine vines will provide a critical source of nectar and pollen during late spring to early summer, a period when fewer flowers are in bloom, thereby increasing honey production and supporting pollinator health. This project combines agriculture, sustainability, and economic growth, positioning the apiary as a model for integrated farming systems that support both farmers and the environment.
Muscadines are a grapevine species native to the southeastern and south-central United States. Muscadine berries may be bronze or dark purple or black when ripe.
Our muscadine grapes will be ready for harvest in late August through October. If you'd like to reserve fresh muscadines for pickup, please email us at tuskegeehoney@gmail.com with your name, desired quantity, and contact information. We'll notify you when your order is ready
