Tuskegee Honey LLC 2026 Events & Learning Opportunities

Whats Going On!

Throughout the year, we will be offering a mix of in-person field days, live Zoom workshops, and self-paced online learning focused on sustainable growing, pollinator stewardship, and practical skills for small farms and home growers.

All educational activities are supported by grant-funded outreach and are designed to be accessible, low-cost, and realistic for everyday growers.

What You’ll Learn

  • Medicinal plant growing, harvesting, and drying
     
  • Creating habitats for butterflies, hummingbirds, and fireflies
     
  • Supporting pollinators by planting natives and leaving leaf litter
     
  • Acorn harvesting and growing native trees
     
  • No-till and soil-building techniques
     
  • Practical planning for small farms and gardens
     

Event Formats

  • In Person: Hands-on field days at the farm (Saturdays, 8–10 AM)
     
  • Live Zoom: Interactive online workshops (Sundays, 5–6 PM CST)
     
  • Online (Self-Paced): Free evergreen learning available anytime

 Dry Farmer & Solo Farmer Free Previews
Self-paced preview lessons on low-input farming and solo farm systems, including landscape fabric use, dry-farm seed selection, and building sustainable systems that reduce labor and burnout.

 Saturday, September 19, 2026 | Hibiscus Roselle Field Day: Harvesting Hibiscus
See hibiscus harvesting in action and learn sustainable methods for processing and using Roselle as a small-scale cash crop.

Saturday, December 5, 2026 | Medicinal Garden Field Day: Winter Prep & Garden Planning
Close the year with mulching, compost additions, cover cropping/no-till basics, and planning spring plantings using collected seeds and acorns.

Sunday, December 27, 2026 | No-Till (Low-Till) & Pollinator-Friendly Growing
Live online workshop on no-till steps and pollinator-supporting plants that improve soil health and reduce long-term workload.
